I'm Obsessed.......

I saw this wallpaper (Geisha by Cole & Son) at a home decor store in London back in October and I haven't been able to get it out of my head.

I've become convinced that the wall above the chair rail in my dining room should be covered in this wallpaper and the area below the chair painted a dark dark blue color pulled from the paper:

I'm not sure how well it would work with the huge oil painting (or the Candy Apple Red buffet my husband not so fondly refers to as Red Death) I have in there currently but that probably isn't a deal breaker on the wallpaper for me.

Or maybe my powder room needs it??  Or is it too much with the penny tile running up the sink wall?

I'm not sure this an idea I can sell my husband on though!

Our House: The Living Room, Media Stand

After months of hitting my favorite consignment/thrift shops and trolling Craig's List on a regular basis I've finally made a decision on a media stand.  The very kind Heidi from Lily Field Furniture found it for me on Craig's List after I'd somehow managed it miss it, even with the title of "HUGE Dresser or Buffet" (and since size was always the issue I'm baffled on how I managed to miss it).

Anyway, hopefully in about a week this beauty will be in place:

In this color, Annie Sloan paint in Graphite:

(please ignore the puppy blanket!)

Heidi started looking for a piece for me after I commented on one she posted on Facebook that sold in a matter of hours.  Once she procured this one (with me in mind but knowing she could easily sell it if I wasn't in love) she was incredibly patient during my week of deliberations and mixed at least four different test colors for me trying to get me to the perfect dark charcoal.   I'm excited to see the finished result and really curious to see for myself how the Annie Sloan Chalk Paint holds up.

To be continued....
